Advantages compared to Sofia and other large cities

Compared to the capital, as in other countries which serve as outsourcing destinations, the second largest city offers a number of advantages. Plovdiv as a city has been recognized for the higher quality of life compared to Sofia (due to less traffic and urban stress, opportunities to reach the workplace by bicycle, public transport, etc.).

The employees in Plovdiv enjoy the city and its opportunities for sports, culture and art. Most of the higher-class jobs in the state administration, finance and B2B services are concentrated in Sofia, which is a factor for stronger competition in the demand for labor. In contrast, the labor market in Plovdiv is not characterized by such strong competition for talent. Compared to the big cities on the coast, employers in Plovdiv do not face fierce competition in the tourism industry or an abrupt leave when the summer season ends.
