Representatives of a Taiwanese company shared their intention to invest EUR 8 million for a new factory for the production of bicycle frames.
During the meeting with Deputy Mayor Stefan Stoyanov, the company expressed interest in building a plant that would produce approximately 60,000 bicycle frames per year. In addition to Taiwan, the company have two factories in China which produce an average of 700,000 units annually.
“The Plovdiv region is the largest industrial center in Bulgaria and I am sure that you will find great business opportunities here. Plovdiv is also the fastest developing and growing city in the country with over 24 000 foreigners who live and work here, and this number continues to grow,” said Deputy Mayor Stoyanov.
The company’s intentions are to increase the capacity of the Plovdiv factory to that of the Chinese in the first few years. The initial plan envisages hiring 60 employees and expanding them to 300 in the near future.
