The first sod of the plant will be made at an official ceremony on July 7, 2021.
BTL Industries, the world leader in the development, production and trade of electronic medical equipment, is starting the construction of a new plant in Plovdiv. The investment amounts to over BGN 20 million and will contribute to the economic development of the region.
The official ceremony for the first sod, which will mark the beginning of construction, will be on July 7, 2021 from 10:00 am with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Municipality of Plovdiv and the management of BTL Industries. Construction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023.
The new plant, which will produce BTL’s full portfolio of state-of-the-art medical equipment, will cover more than 25,000 square meters of built-up area and will contribute to the creation of many new jobs in the region.
The plant will be located in the Eastern Industrial Zone, on the site of the former Leather Factory. The plan is to build automated warehouses, robotic systems for distribution of warehouses between employees and a solar park. Most of the products will be exported in over 110 countries on 6 continents.
At the end of 2019, with the assistance of the Municipality of Plovdiv, BTL Industries received a Class A investment certificate for the construction of a new manufacturing base in Plovdiv. The company is building an entirely new factory in the central part of the city for electronic medical equipment manufacturing in response to the growing need to expand its activities in Bulgaria. The investment is for BGN 20 million. The project envisages the creation of 200 new jobs.
In October, the government allocated BGN 1.02m to build the road infrastructure that will improve transport connectivity in the area where the production base is located.
The funds are from the budget of the Ministry of Economy for the implementation of financial incentive measures under the IPA. The construction of the road infrastructure is a commitment of the Municipality of Plovdiv. The project includes reconstruction of part of Vladaya Street and the connection with Maritsa Blvd. according to the plan of the East Multifunctional Zone.
