Schneider Electric, leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, will invest over €60 million in the expansion of its Smart Factory in Plovdiv.
The investment covers the expansion of the plant with 3,000 sq.m. and an increase in production capacity. Three new production lines for circuit breakers are planned, which will increase the total production volume by nearly 30%.
“We are proud to share that our plant is experiencing such significant development growth. This success is due to the professionalism, dedication and vision of our entire team, “said Maria Topchiyska, CEO of the smart factory of Schneider Electric in Plovdiv. “Only two years after receiving the international certificate for Smart Factory, we managed to achieve a significant increase in our automated systems, as already over 70% of the processes in the plant are automated. With the expansion and implementation of the three new production lines, this percentage will continue to grow, “she added.
“With the expansion of our factory we will create 100 new jobs by the middle of 2023, with which our family in Bulgaria will become over 1,000 people,” said Elena Vatrachka, Human Resources Manager at Schneider Electric Bulgaria.
As the most sustainable corporation in the world for 2021, Schneider Electric has clear commitments for carbon neutrality and NetZero until 2030. This has been a crucial part of the process of expansion of the Smart Factory in Plovdiv. At present, Schneider Electric’s plant in Plovdiv produces over 40 million circuit breakers a year, which provide permanent protection to people from nearly 30 countries.
