Schneider Electric will expand its Smart Factory in Plovdiv with a multimillion investment. The official first sod was made by Maria Topchiyska – Plant Manager, Radoslav Koshkov – Country General Manager for Bulgaria, Albania, North Macedonia and Kosovo, and Georgi Tityukov – Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv.
The investment will create three new production lines for automatic circuit breakers which will increase the total production volume of the company in our country by 30%. Schneider Electric’s expansion seeks to provide 100 new jobs by mid-2023.
At the same time, the company is starting the construction of a geothermal energy system. “It’s free energy that uses available resources. Heat pump units will use the temperature of geothermal waters to produce hot water for heating. The units will also provide cooling,” explained Maria Topchiyska, who expressed hope that by 2030 the company will go completely Net Zero.
“The expansion of the Schneider Electric plant in Plovdiv is yet another step forward, which is an example of the excellent cooperation between businesses in Trakia Economic Zone and not only, and the local government,” said Deputy Mayor Georgi Tityukov, who also applauded the creation of a system for geothermal energy.
