Leading UK provider of next-gen technology services Endava will open a permanent office in Plovdiv.
Representatives of the Bulgarian branch of Endava shared these intentions at an official meeting with Deputy Mayor Stefan Stoyanov.
So far the company was based only in the capital and mentioned that they had chosen Plovdiv and two other cities in the country to expand their activity. For now, Plovdiv will be the only one in Southern Bulgaria, due to its leading role in the IT&BPO ecosystem in the country. Endava has already started hiring IT specialists in Plovdiv. Since their establishment in the country 5 years ago, they have hired over 300 who develop, implement and maintain various state-of-the-art software solutions. “Last year we achieved 50% growth in the office of Endava in Sofia, we plan rapid development in Plovdiv,” said Darius Stefan, Endava Manager in Bulgaria. “We are currently looking to hire people with experience in various technologies – Java, .NET, Python, as well as business analysts and testers, such as we are constantly opening and announcing new positions on our website.” added Nikolay Penev, who heads the Business Analysis Department of Endava and the company’s team in Plovdiv.
Stefan Stoyanov shared with the investors that the pandemic did not prevent but has only slowed down Plovdiv’s development. “The city is growing tremendously fast due to good job opportunities and high quality of life. There is high dynamics of new investments in industrial zones in the business sector services and tourism,” he said, adding that in social and economic indicators the city is ahead of Sofia, which in turn attracts companies such as Endava in the region. He also presented leading data important for the business, such as the potential for new job growth – up to 5,000 over the next 5 years, as well as the growing young population, which in turn becomes an integral part of the city’s brand and leads to positive net migration. During the meeting, the Municipality of Plovdiv and Endava shared interest in future opportunities for cooperation and stated that they are ready to work for the development of the local IT community, to offer various internship programs, and partner in the organization of conferences and meetings in the technical sector.
