The newest plant – another located in Trakia Economic Zone, near Radinovo was opened today during an official ceremony at the presence of The Prime Minister Mr. Boyko Borisov, The Mayor of Plovdiv eng. Ivan Totev, The Regional Governor of Plovdiv Mr. Zdravko Dimitrov, The Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Tomislav Donchev, Minister of Economy Mr. Emil Karanikolov, H.E. Eric Lobendel, The Ambassador of France to Bulgaria and other official guests, representatives of the company and employees. The plant of the French manufacturing company of aircraft parts is set only a year after the first sod was made in September 2017.
Airplane doors will be assembled at the plant. The investment is worth 15 million BGN Levs, and the goal is to hire 150 employees by the end of 2018. “I am glad that after Bulgaria has bought the most fashionable, expensive and good French helicopters Cougar and Panther, we are finally here and we are opening an airplane plant. This proves that it is better to be partners, both in European Union and in Bulgaria, in order to have production,” The Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said. He did not fail to thank the local municipal administrations for the work done so far of the business environment.
The Prime Minister did not hide his joy from the investment made by the French company Latecoere and others similar to it as they helped to boost the gross domestic product of the country. “I hope we will show the way for other investors to understand that the infrastructure and the business environment are favorable, the quality of the workforce is at a high level,” said Mrs. Janik Asuad, Latekoer’s CEO. “I believe that more and more investors will benefit from the advantages of Bulgarian industrial zones,” said Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov.
After the official ceremony, the guests had a look at the plant and became acquainted with the production process. The company was established in Toulouse in the distant 1917, and over the years it has become an example in the aircraft industry. At present, the company is a major supplier for Airbus. Every year, about 5 million passengers fly to Airbus from or to Bulgaria. The national company “Bulgaria Air” uses five airplanes “Airbus”. Bulgarian Ministry of Defense has 12 “Couger” helicopters and two “Panther”.
