Kaufland is among the first major investors in the Plovdiv region with a 15-year presence in the city. The largest logistics center of the company in all of Southeast Europe is located in the industrial zone – Rakovski. During the discussions, Ivan Chernev presented the future initiatives and plans for the development of its retail space, logistics bases and the opening of new job positions.
“We invest a lot in the training and education of our employees, we monitor pay levels and take the steps so that we can retain our best employees,” said the Chairman of the Board of Kaufland Bulgaria. In this regard, Mr. Stefan Stoyanov – Deputy Mayor “Education, Business Development and European Policies” of the Municipality of Plovdiv, proposed that the company join the companies that already have dual classes in Plovdiv.
Vocational education is among the leading priorities of the municipality and a large number of dual classes have already been formed in 9 high schools, and only in 2020 new 14 have been created. “Over 30 companies participate in the training program,” Stoyanov stressed.
The Municipality of Plovdiv has invited Kaufland Bulgaria to open a Business Services Center in the city. According to Ivan Chernev, this is an extremely attractive opportunity that the company will seriously consider, especially given the fact that Plovdiv has a large number of high-quality specialists in the field of information technology, finance and accounting.
