Plovdiv as an investment destination will be presented by the Deputy Mayor for Education and Business Development Stefan Stoyanov during а two-day business forum held in Istanbul. It is organised by the Bulgarian Investment Agency (BAI) and aims to present Turkish companies with existing opportunities for business expansion in Bulgaria.
The event was opened today by the Bulgarian Ministers of Innovation and Growth – Alexander Pulev, of Tourism – Ilin Dimitrov, and of Health – Dr. Asen Medzhidiev. The Turkish neighbour is represented by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey, Dr. Cetin Ali Dönmez.
Together with Plovdiv, mayors and representatives of several other municipalities – Dobrich, Kardjali and Vidin, etc. – are also taking part in the event, in which over 250 delegates participate. A series of round tables are planned, in which more than 60 leading Turkish companies from the automotive, mechanical engineering, healthcare and tourism sectors will present their interests in the Bulgarian country. Additionally, the group will visit the “Gebze” industrial zone, one of the fastest growing in our southern neighbour, where global companies prefer to invest.
“We continue to promote the city and local businesses and expand business opportunities for trade and investment. In recent years, Plovdiv has established itself as a preferred industrial centre in Southeast Europe,” commented the Deputy Mayor, who will meet with two companies setting up production in the region.
We remind you that in December 2022, as part of an initiative of BAI, Stefan Stoyanov presented our city at two investment conferences in Sunnyvale, California and Portland, Oregon in the United States.
